Manage Your Channel - Tools & Analytics


Repost a video

The repost feature lets you make clips from videos and publish them to your channel. It's a great tool for sharing videos and growing your audience. If a user reposts your video, you'll get even more views. Learn more about the feature here.
Note: All ad revenue generated from reposts is credited to the original uploader, not the reposter. Views are credited to both the original uploader and reposter.
Follow the steps below to repost a video (not yet available on mobile devices).
  1. Navigate to the page of the video you would like to repost.
    Note: A repost button will not appear for videos you cannot repost such as live streams, paid content, or videos that channels have restricted from being reposted.
  2. Click the Repost button located beneath the player.
  3. Customize your repost's title using the Title text field.
  4. Use the Start at and End at fields or the trimming tool to choose the section you'd like to repost. You can also repost an entire video.
  5. Click the Repost button to share the video on your channel.
You can always view your reposts on your channel page by clicking the Reposts category in the channel navigation.
Note: If you cannot see a repost, it is typically because the original video has been deleted.

To delete a repost, simply the follow the steps to delete a video.

Feature a video

Feature a video to showcase it when users visit your channel page. You must be signed in to feature a video.
Follow the steps below to feature a video.
  1. Hover over the Dailymotion logo in the top-right of the home page to show your channel menu.
  2. Click Your Channel from the channel menu to go to your channel page.
  3. Scroll down and click the Change Featured Video button on the right side of the page.
  4. Choose the video you would like to feature from the list that appears.
  5. Click the Save button to save your changes.
You can also automatically feature live streams by editing your channel settings

Audience analytics

You can use audience analytics to review user activity surrounding your videos. 
Follow the steps below to access your audience analytics.
  1. Hover over the Dailymotion logo in the top-right of the home page to show your channel menu.
  2. Click Analytics from the channel menu to go to your analytics home page.
  3. This will bring you to the analytics overview tab. Adjust the time range using the date fields in the Performance over time section to change your data set.
  4. There are three tabs to choose from:
    If you have monetization enabled, you will also be able to access revenue analytics on this page. Get help in our Revenue Analytics section.
    • Overview: A quick look at the most important data including views, minutes watched, followers, comments, and traffic sources. 
      Tip: Click video titles in the Videos Breakdown section to see video-specific data.
    • Video Insights: Use this tab view analytics for specific videos. You can browse by upload date, number of views, or number of comments.
    • Export: Use this page to export any part of your audience data in a CSV file.

Analytics explained

The analytics section consists of three or more tabs, depending on your account type.
Overview Tab
In the Overview tab you can view your channel's most important metrics:
  • Views
  • Minutes watched
  • Subscribers
  • Shares
  • Likes
  • Comments
  • Video Performance
  • Geographic Data
  • Domain Data
  • Device Data
There are nine sections in the Overview tab.
  1. Total: This section shows data for your account's entire lifespan.
  2. Performance over Time: This section shows data for any time range you specify. Use the date fields in the upper right to adjust your time range.
  3. Video Breakdown: This section show your 10 most popular videos based on views. Click the title of any video to see individual statistics for that video.
  4. Country Breakdown: This section shows the top 10 countries where your videos are viewed.
  5. Audience Retention: This section shows your audience's drop off rates when watching your videos. This data excludes live streams.
  6. Domains Breakdown: This section shows the domains where your videos are being embedded.
  7. Traffic Sources Breakdown: This section shows which websites are driving traffic to your videos.
  8. Devices Breakdown: This section shows which operating systems your audience is using.
  9. Audience: This section shows you a map with a geographical breakdown by country. Hover over countries to view data.
Video Insights Tab

In the Video Insights tab you can get detailed statistics on specific videos. You can browse videos by upload date, view count, and comment count.
There are six sections in the Video Insights tab.
  1. Total: This section shows data for your video's entire lifespan.
  2. Performance over Time: This section shows data for any time range you specify. Use the date fields in the upper right to adjust your time range.
  3. Domains Breakdown: This section shows the domains where your videos are being embedded.
  4. Traffic Sources Breakdown: This section shows which websites are driving traffic to your videos.
  5. Devices Breakdown: This section shows which operating systems your audience is using.
  6. Audience: This section shows you a map with a geographical breakdown by country. Hover over countries to view data.
Data for Live Streams includes the additional metric Concurrent Users, which lets you view current and historic data viewing data.

Channels

Use the Channels tab if you manage or control multiple channels on Dailymotion. Here you will be able to access the data for all your sub-channels.

Export

Download your audience data in a .CSV file.

Video Monetization/Paid Content/Website Monetization
The revenue analytics tabs will only be visible if you have monetization enabled for your channel. Learn more in our Revenue Analytics section

Badge, carousel, and grid

Promote your channel with the Dailymotion Badge, Carousel, or Grid. You can showcase your latest content on your website or blog. This can help bring new viewers and subscribers to your channel.

Here's how to promote your channel on your website:
  1. Hover over the Dailymotion logo in the top-right of the home page to show your channel menu.
  2. Click Your Channel from the channel menu to go to your channel page.
  3. Click on the Promote button on the right side of your cover photo section.
4.A box will appear. Choose how you would like to showcase your channel:


5.Copy the automatically generated code from text box and paste it into your website's HTML

Playlists

Playlists are an invaluable tool for increasing your channel's exposure. Create playlists to organize videos, increase audience engagement, and increase search visibility.
