Creating a channel allows you to follow other channels, create playlists, upload videos, and do more. To get started, follow the instructions below.
  1. Click the Sign Up / Sign In button in the upper right corner of www.dailymotion.com.
  2. Choose I want to create an account from the radial menu options.
  3. Click Sign in with Google+, Sign in with Facebook, or type your email address in the form field and click Next.
  4. If signing up using Google+ or Facebook, authorize Dailymotion.
  5. Next, enter your password, birth date, channel name, channel link, captcha, and click Create. 
  6. Check your email for a confirmation email. Click the Confirm your email address button.
  7. You will be directed to your Dailymotion channel where you can start to use more advanced features.

Description

Your channel description is your chance to let people know who you are. Make your description concise, informative, and eye-catching. We also suggest using keywords and including your upload schedule.
Follow the steps below to edit your channel description.
  1. Hover over the Dailymotion logo in the top-right of the home page to show your channel menu.
  2. Click Your Channel from the channel menu to go to your channel page.
  3. Find your description box—the text area below your cover photo and profile picture. It will turn yellow when your mouse hovers over it.
  4. Click the description box to start editing.
  5. Type your desired description.
  6. Click the Save button to save your changes.

Channel photos

Your channel photos show off your personality with two photos:
- Your cover photo
- Your profile picture.
Your cover photo should be visually compelling and demonstrate your taste. Your profile picture should creatively show who you are. Read below to learn how to edit your channel photos.

Follow the steps below to upload and edit your cover photo :
Note: Cover photos should be at least 1920 x 1080 px.
  1. Hover over the Dailymotion logo in the top-right of the home page to show your channel menu.
  2. Click Your Channel from the channel menu to go to your channel page.
  3. Hover over your cover photo section—the large rectangular area. The Edit cover photo menu will appear in the upper right of the area.
    • Note: If you do not already have a cover photo uploaded, you will be prompted to add a cover photo by dragging and dropping an image file or clicking the Upload a banner button.
  1. Click the Edit cover photo menu and choose from one of the options:
    • Upload a new photo: Choose a new image file from your computer. Once uploaded, the image can be dragged to a desired position.
    • Adjust cover photo: Drag your image to a new position.
    • Add/Edit link: Change the URL that clicking your cover photo directs to.
  2. Remove cover photo: Delete your current cover photo. You will need to upload a replacement.
  3. Click the Save button to save your changes.

Follow the steps below to upload and edit your profile photo : 

Note: Profile pictures should be square and at least 160 x 160 px. 
  1. Hover over the Dailymotion logo in the top-right of the home page to show your channel menu.
  2. Click Your Channel from the channel menu to go to your channel page.When you first visit your Channel page, you will be prompted to add a profile picture by clicking the Add avatar button.
  3. Hover over your profile photo section—the small square area on the left. The Edit menu will appear.
  4. Note: If you do not already have a profile photo uploaded, you will be prompted to add a profile photo by clicking the Add avatar button.
  5. Click the Edit menu and choose from one of the options:
    • Add new: Choose a new image file from your computer.
    • Remove: Delete your current cover photo. You will need to upload a replacement.
  6. Click the Save button to save your changes.

Followers and following

On Dailymotion, you can follow other channels and other channels can follow your channel. 
If channels follow you, they will receive notifications based on your activity, such as uploading a new video. Similarly, you'll receive notifications about activity from channels you follow.
To follow or unfollow channels, simply click the green Follow button on a channel's page.

External links

Use external links to let users find your website and follow social media accounts. 
Follow the steps below to add and edit external links.
  1. Hover over the Dailymotion logo in the top-right of the home page to show your channel menu.
  2. Click Your Channel from the channel menu to go to your channel page.
  3. If you do not currently any links, click Add Links on the right side beneath your cover photo.
    If you are trying to edit your current links, click Edit by hovering over the Find Me Elsewhere section on the right side beneath your cover photo.
  4. A box will appear. Enter up to 5 links to feature. Click the Save button after entering each link.
  5. You can edit links individually by clicking the text of a link or delete links by clicking the trash can icon.
  6. Once you are finished, click Close to return to your Channel page.

Lost password

For security reasons, you cannot retrieve a forgotten password. You can, however, create a new one.
To reset your password:
  1. Click Sign Up / Sign In in the header.
  2. Below the login fields, click Forgot your password?
  3. Enter the email address associated with your Dailymotion account
  4. Validate the form
  5. An email with a link to reset your password will be sent to you
